Construction of power lines to connect two wind-farms, in the municipalities of Pettoranello (IS) and Castelpizzuto (IS), to the electric grid and the associated works and infrastructure

The plans for the power lines to connect the two wind farms of Pettoranello and Castelpizzuto to the national grid were made following an in-depth survey to choose the optimal route and to identify any interceptions and other critical issues.

The Pettoranello wind-farm involves the installation of 13 wind-turbines with rated power outputs of 3.0 MW for a total of 39 MW.

The Castelpizzuto wind-farm involves the installation of 15 wind-turbines with rated power outputs of 2.5 MW for a total of 37.5 MW.

In particular the plans concentrate on the elements necessary to allow the connection of the towers downstream from the BT/MT transformation, at the MT/AT transformation substation. Both facilities will require a connection, by 150 kV antenna with a new switching station, at 150 kV double bus-bar to the RTN connecting by means of an "in-out" directrix at 150 kV "Isernia-San Massimo" in turn to be to connected through a new 150 kV power line to the grid at the transformation station.

The project involves the construction of a transformation substation MT/AT 20kV/150 kV located in the municipality of Castelpetroso (IS) and the subsequent connection by HV cable to the planned substation "Castelpetroso" for the connection to the RTN grid.
